Another riot of colour on a shimmering, swirling gold background. This time it’s double trouble as layers and layers of gold leaf glisten behind the two kingfishers and light bounces off the textured water splashes. I lost count of the numbers of layers of paint that I needed in this one to capture the depth and fluffiness of those iridescent feathers!
DOUBLE TROUBLE is the latest and largest kingfisher and gold-leaf piece in my Gilded Collection. This time, I have added more gold leaf on top of the painting itself which also strengthens the link between the painting and the gold background - bringing all the elements together in the composition. And besides - who doesn't like a little extra sparkle!
DELIVERED FREE WITHIN THE UK OR HAND-DELIVERED IF YOU’RE NOT TOO FAR AWAY!
Created on a 38mm deep wood panel, finished on all four sides. Strung and ready to hang.
Framing is not necessary but it would also look great in a floating frame. I can organise this for you - just ask!
